At Grant & Grant we are always excited to talk subro and spread the word about all the interesting issues and strategies that we have utilized over the years.
On May 22, 2024, Grant & Grant partner, Blake Orner, chaired the Subrogation Law seminar for ICLEF and the Indiana State Bar Association. This was the third occasion that Grant & Grant has led the Subrogation law panel, previously doing so in 2016 and 2020.
Blake was joined on the panel by defense attorney, Steve St. John, Skiles DeTrude, and professional engineer, Nate Dwyer, owner of Fire Findings Laboratories.
The panel discussed all aspects of subrogation including motor vehicle, workers compensation, subrogation liens, and large loss property subrogation.
A highlight of the panel was a large fire loss case study in which the panelist provided their unique insights, from the perspective of plaintiff’s counsel, defense counsel, and a retained investigator/engineer, on the initial evaluation, investigation, and litigation of a large subrogation claim.
